The slide is on the outlet of a pipe-form conveyor e.g. a worm drive conveyor, with a cut out in the pipe through which the material being conveyed can pass. There is a housing enclosing the pipe in the area of the cut out, which provides a bearing for the slide and an actuating device to operate it. The contour of the slide corresponds to the outer contour of the pipe which the slide adjoins elastically and the actuating device rotates the slide round the pipe's axis from the area of the cut out along the pipe's circumference. The slide is held by pull springs along one side.
