PURPOSE:To obtain an initialization system requiring no software change, by assigning peculiar node numbers to respective connection units and by causing each connection unit to transmit this number forward and compare the number transmitted from the back with the transmitted number. CONSTITUTION:Host computers 11-16 are connected through connection units 21-26 by unidirectional loop bus 3 to form a loop bus network system. Peculiar numbers are assigned to respective connection units, and each connection unit not only transmits its own peculiar number forward but also compares the number transmitted from the back with the transmitted number. Only when the number transmitted from the back is larger, this number is transmitted forward to circulate only the maximum number through bus 3. When the maximum number is received by the connection unit which transmitted it, the connection unit transmits the control signal reporting this receiving to bus 3 to set nodes of other connection units to slaves. When the control signal has circuited once through bus 3, the node which transmitted it is set to the master, thus initializing the network system. |
