PURPOSE:To improve the finishing precision due to the finishing tool and the life of the cutting edge by forming such a surface corresponding to a flank that a width from a cutting edge between the flank and the cutting edge is within 0.02-0.1mm. and the equivalent angle to a relief angle approximates to 0 deg.. CONSTITUTION:The TC237 type is used for a cutting tool and a tip 1 is fixed to a shank 2 in a conventional method and honed. A cutting eage 3 is provided with a conventional honed surface for protection of chipping and has a width (e) of 0.05- 0.1mm.. This surface 3 is equipped and then an equivalent flank 4 is provided and its width is regulated to within 0.02-0.1mm.. A standard flank 5 and a rake face 6 are provided conventionally. |
