<p>The housing (1,2) is made of plastics material, and is used for scientific instruments. The housing is an approximately cubical shape, with an open front to accommodate the scale plate and the protective front glass. The pivot for the instrument pointer is accommodated in one cut-away corner of the scale plate and the scale covers a quadrant of a circle. The housing is split into two halves (1,2) along a diagonal (3), and is held together by hinge pins (8) engaging claw sections (4,5,6,7) on two opposed corners of the two halves. Grooves near the front of the housing hold the scale plate and the front glass.</p> |
