The beehive has a bottom section (12) with two side walls and removable front and rear walls. The front wall has a closable bee entrance. Inclined boards(18) extend upwards from the front (4) and rear(6) walls to form upper(24) and lower(22) spaces. The side walls and rear wall contain vents(14, 26). A hive section(44) has inner and outer side walls and has end walls which have portions for suspending bee hive frames(56). An end wall has a closable entrance. A tap section has an inner cover(72, 78) with inner and outer walls, a base in the inner cover, a reversible inner lid(70) with projections on one side and an upstanding wall on the other side. An outer lid(96) has an area larger than the inner lid so that the outer lid can bemoved to aid ventilation.
