Transmission element for automobile ventilator setting control - has guide with sectional plastics sleeve enclosing tension or compression member

The transmission element couples a mechanical setting slider with a ventilation flap. It comprises a flexible tension or compression member fixed at one end to the setting slider which fits inside a guide sleeve formed by interfitting straight and curved tubular sections (3,4). The joint (6) between each pair of adjacent sections (3,4) allows them to be rotated into and held in a required relative angular position. The tubular sections (3,4) are made of plastics and an intermediate sleeve (5) is fitted between the facing ends. The tension and/or compression member is pref. formed by barrel-shaped beads strung along a guide string.
