Air jet loom has a weft grasper located before the air jet pickling nozzle, and a casing about the grasper is connected to the nozzle by a tube. Yarn waste and the other debris in the casing is sucked through the tube to the nozzle when it operates, and shot through the shed (along with the weft being picked) into the open air. Preferably waste yarn and debris from the nozzle, and also the picked weft leading end, enter a collecting tube leading to a filter connected to an air pump.
