PURPOSE:To make accuracy higher with simple construction by moving either one of two sheets of tapered rotatory bodies thereby changing the optical path length of light passing the rotatory bodies. CONSTITUTION:Surfaces on one side of rotatory bodies 11, 12 are the surfaces perpendicular to crystal optical axes 11, 12c and the surfaces on the other are tapered surfaces of an angle theta to the perpendicular plane. The crystal optical axes 11c and 12c are in the same direction and the tapered surfaces oppose to each other and are parallel. Therefore, when it becomes necessary to change the lengths of the rotatory bodies by DELTAl to obtain the 90 deg. rotating angle difference of the polarizing planes with respect to the light of two wavelength owing to a change in the light wavelengths, this may be accomplished by moving the rotatory body 12 by DELTAl/tantheta then rotatively adjusting a polarizer 10 with respect to the optical path in such a manner that the linearly polarized light of the two wavelengths corresponds to the ordinary ray and extraordinary ray of a double refractive crystal plate 9. Such constitution enables accuracy to be enhanced with the simple construction. |
