Suspension point for high power cable groups - uses cables which are held by strap and by tension regulating roller

Method of suspension for parallel groups of cables normally three or so, each being insulated and carrying high power supplies. The method allows such groups to be held collectively and minimises damage due to electro-dynamic forces experienced by the cables due to transient overload currents. Suspension is based on the use of a flexible strap (1) wrapped over the cable group (23,24,25) and held at one or two fixing points. The method of holding the strap ends can vary but includes a roller through which the strap is fitted, the roller having a ratchet (33) at one end to allow the strap tension to be adjusted and held. The strap may be wound twice over the cable group and can have one end permanently attached (63) to a separate clamping point.
