The line transformer for television receiver applications uses interconnected winding segments located in separate cavities to provide high voltage stability. The transformer core (1) has a central bore and a number of disc segments (3) to form separate winding cavities (4). The individual windings have interconnections and external connection is made via two terminals. The interconnections are made in slots (6) within each disc periphery and the slots are set at an angle of 15 degrees and alternate in the direction along the former. Due to the length of the air gap provided by the slots, the possibility of voltage bridging is minimised.
