NEW MATERIAL:A 3-N-(L-aspartyl)amino-1-fenchyl-2-butanol or 3-N-(L-aspartyl) amino-4-fenchyl-2-butanol shown by the formula (R1 is methyl; R2 is homofenchyl or R1 is homofenchyl; R2 is methyl). USE:Useful foods, drugs, especially useful as a sweetener. Having sugar-like sweetness, high retasting degree, being stable in an acidic aqueous solution and usable in a wide field. PREPARATION:1-Fenchone is converted into homofenchylaldehyde, which is used as a raw material and introduced into two fenchylamino-alcohol derivatives. Then these derivatives are reacted with Z-L-aspartic acid monobenzyl ester and reduced to give a compound shown by the formula. |
