PURPOSE:To make possible the raising of the data rate free from any system disturbance by monopulse angle measurement of only one antenna within the bearing range of the tracking forecasting gate out of two sets of the antennas for the secondary surveillance radar (SSR) provided. CONSTITUTION:The target position is computed with the SSR antenna 16, the receiver 18, the digitizer 21, the tracking device 23 and the like. Based on the computation, the tracking forecasting gate T. G is formed and applied to the timing generator 11 from the device 23. The SSR transmitter 12 is changed over through the switch 13 to transmit the inquiry signal of several bits with one SSR antenna 17 of two ones arranged back to back within the tracking forecasting range. The signals are continuously transmitted with the SSR receivers 19 and 20 and the monopulse processor 22 until the computation of the bearing ends, whereby accurate target tracking is performed by the nomopulse angle measurement system with the minimum number of pulses, increasing the rate two times and so on. This can prevent any system disturbance including overload of the transponder by the interference of the two secondary surveillance radars SSR. |
