Process for preparing certain D-amino acids

The technical problem of preparing certain D-amino acids is solved by enzymatically hydrolysing certain hydantoins with hydropyrimidine hydrolases, separating off the D-form of the carbamylamino acid corresponding to the D-amino acid which is to be obtained, and hydrolysing this D-form in boiling water in order to obtain the D-amino acid as such.
