New terpolymer (I), is prepd. by the radical polymerisation of, by wt., : 30-50 % vinyl pyrrolidone, 40-70 % tert. Bu acrylate or -methacrylate and 5-5% acrylic- or methacrylic acid and its -COOH gps are neutralised, opt partly or completely, e.g. to 5-100%, by an organic amine and has K-value 10-60. Hair-spray compsn. contains, by wt.: 0.5-15% (I), 10-95% solvent, e.g. acetone, EtOH, propanol, isopropanol, butanol and/or 1-methoxy-propanol and 5-90% propellant, e.g. propane, n-butane, isobutane, 2,2-dimethyl-propane, isopentane and/or dimethyl ether. The compsn. opt contains also 0.1-10 % water of 1% CH2Cl2 or C2H3Cl3.
