A hydrocarbon fractionation process comprises passing a feedstream(I) comprising 2-8C hydrocarbons into an intermediate point of a first fractionating column(A) operated to separate a first overhead vapour fraction(II) comprising 2-6C hydrocarbons and a first bottoms stream(II) substantially free of 6C hydrocarbons and comprising 7-8C hydrcoarbons which is removed as a product stream. A is operated at superatmospheric pressures ( 50psig), and an upper zone of a second fractionating column at the same press. as A but with a lower bottom temp. than A. I particulary comprises 8C aromatics.
