PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry out recording a halftone by varying the size of ink drops while acclerating and deflecting the ink drops of different weights injected through a nozzle by providing means for impressing an electrostatic field parallel to the injection direction. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal from a signal source 5 is applied to a piezo driving circuit 6 and charge voltage control means 7, and a voltage proportional to the weight m of the designated ink drops is produced from the charge voltage control means 7. To the ink drops injected through a nozzle 3 there is applied a charge quantity q proportional to the voltage being impressed to a charge electrode 8. The ink drops thus formed are charged at a constant ratio of the charge quantity q of the ink drops and the weight m thereof even if the weight varies. Then, the ink drops receive the same acceleration between accelerating electrodes 9 and 10, and the ratio of speed irregularity becomes small, and pass a deflecting electrode 11 at the equal time, and the deflection angle becomes constant. Furthermore, the ink drops are similarly accelerated between the accelerating electrode 13 and 14 and driven into a recording medium 15. |
