PURPOSE:To permit a bright fluorescent display of a color other than green color by forming a luminous layer with a specific fluorescent substance. CONSTITUTION:A luminous layer formed on the anodes 3a-3n inside an air-tight container is made to exhibit luminescence by means of electron radiated from the filament 4. The luminous layer contains stannic oxide and europium (of 10<-8>-2X 10<-1>g in terms of europium oxide on the basis of 1g of stannic oxide), together with at least one (of 10<-8>-2X10<-1>g in terms of oxide on the basis of 1g of stannic oxide) of beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium, zinc, cadmium, mercury, and lead. In case where charging occurs, a fluorescent containing 5X10<-5>-2X10<-1>g of tin in terms of tin sulfide is used. |
