Video display from ultrasonic scan - has logic memory to assemble scan with video read=out and with correction facility

A video display for an ultrasonic scanner has a coding control to address the different parts of the return signal and assemble an image for display on the video read-out. The system uses an arithmetic logic and a control logic. The slow scan is read from the memory and updated continuously. The system provides a simple diagnostic aid with different layers inside the subject displayed from the memory either in a cyclic display or by manual selection. The stored images can be processed to correct for contrast etc without any complex circuits. The whole scanner is controlled by a microprocessor.
