A control circuit is designed to generate a nonlinear transfer characteristic in the form of an output curve represented by interconnecting straight lines of predetermined slopes. The circuit is for use in control of the air flow for gas burners. The input (a) is processed by a feedback coupled pair of operational amplifiers (2,4) to generate the required output (b). Interconnections are made to operational amplifier stages (12,15) with a Zener diode (19) switching stage to provide the non-linear operating characteristic. The second operational amplifier stage has its output terminal connected through a diode (16) to a sensitivity control potentiometer (17).
