PURPOSE:To reduce the memory capacity of a terminal equipment while shortening the time of transmission by transmitting characters high in appearance frequency by codes and low characters by patterns. CONSTITUTION:A string of transmitted data consists of data #0 showing whether a character constituting a character line is to be transmitted by a code or pattern, code or pattern data #16-#18X(15-n). Then, transmitted signal #0 from an informatin center is received to preset control circuit 45 and data change-over circuit 9 is switched by control signal 19. As for a string of data #1-#15, code data are input to buffer memory 29, and pattern data to buffer memory 30; and corresponding character ROM35 is read by output 33 of memory 29 and together with pattern data in memory 30, data are written in refresh memory 41 via change-over circuit 38 in the blanking interval of CRT44. Memory 41 is refreshed synchronizing with CRT44 and retrieval informatin transmitted from the center is displayed on CRT44. |
