1. Process for the manufacture of 12 alpha-hydroxysteroids of the general formula I see diagramm : EP0019162,P3,F1 in which X represents a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom, R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydroxy group, or R1 and R2 together represent an isopropylidenedioxy group, characterised in that a steroid of the general formula II see diagramm : EP0019162,P3,F3 in which X, R1 and R2 have the meanings given above and R3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkanoyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, is fermented with a culture of Cercospora kaki (CBS 128 39). |
