Studio system for superimposing film images - Uses two fixed colour TV cameras one to view relief model back-drop movable in three dimensions relative to camera

A system for filming movable images which are to be overlaid one on another in a colour TV picture comprises two fixed cameras (C1,C2) whose video signals are applied to a mixing circuit (8) which provides a composite picture video signal. The first camera has within its field of view a three dimensional relief model (M) on a carriage (5) which is movable along a pair of rails (3). The latter are in turn pivotable on a further railed carriage (2), the whole being supported on telescopic legs to provide movement of the model in three dimensions. The second camera films e.g. people so that when the two scenes are combined, the model serves as a backdrop. Both have rear plans or bases in colours having different colorimetric domains to that of the persons or model to assist superposition.
