PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of repairing for a vortex detecting element, and produce the vortex detecting element and a vortex generating element at a high efficiency, by detachably setting the vortex detecting element in the vortex generating element. CONSTITUTION:A through bore 7 is provided in a vortex generating element 1 such that the bore 7 is extended through both side surfaces 5, 6, where a vortex is generated, of the element 1, and a vortex detecting element 8 is detachably fitted in the bore 7. A Karman's vortex street is successively generated at both sides of the vortex generating element 1 due to the flow of a fluid in the direction of an arrow A in a passage 3. Metallic diaphragms 12, 13 are displaced due to the vortexes so that the distance between the diaphragm 12 and a metal plate 15 and the distance between the diaphragm 13 and a metal plate 16 are varied. As a result, electrostatic capacities of these diaphragms 12, 13 are varied. Variations in electrostatic capacities referred to above are electrically detected through lead wires 19-21 to determine a vortex generating frequency, i.e. the velocity of flow or flow rate of a fluid in the passage 3. Since the detecting element 8 can be withdrawn from the through bore 7 so as to be renewed, a detector 30 can be repaired easily. Moreover, the detecting element 8 and generating element 1 can be produced separately. Therefore, the detector 30 can be produced at an extremely high efficinecy. |
