PURPOSE:To protect a paper from marring or contamination, by a construction wherein a slack generated in a rolled form paper at the time of reversely feeding the paper after completion of recording in one color in order to record in the next color is absorbed into a space provided in a printer. CONSTITUTION:In a recording operation, a recording head 3 is pressed against a platen 5, with a rolled form paper 2 and an ink film 4 therebetween, and is driven to generate heat according to an input signal, thereby transferring an ink onto the paper 2, while a paper-feeding roller 6 is rotated in the direction of an arrow (a) to gradually feed out the paper 2 from a main body 1 of a printer. The ink film 4 is coated sequentially with a plurality of color inks, and when recording in one color is finished, the paper 2 is fed in the direction reverse to the feeding direction at the time of recording, for transfer recording in the next color. At the time of the reverse feeding, the head 3 is separated from the platen 5, and the paper-feeding roller 6 is rotated in the direction of an arrow (b), whereby the paper 2 is gradually accumulated between the platen 5 and a rolled form paper bending part 12b of a rolled form paper guide 12. When the paper 2 is reversely fed to a position for recording in the next color, recording is restarted. |
