A sulfonanilide compounds having the formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) wherein X1 is hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, methyl group or trifluoromethyl group, X2 is hydrogen atom or a halogen atom, R1 is a (C1-C4) alkyl group or a halo(C1-C4) alkyl group, R2 is hydrogen atom, a (C1-C4) alkyl group, trifluoromethyl group or nitro group, R3 is hydrogen atom, -SO2R1 group (R1 is the same as defined above), a (C2-C4) acyl group, a (C2-C4) acylmethyl group, a (C1-C4) alkyl group, a (C1-C4) alkoxy (C1-C4) alkyl group or a (C3-C4) alkenyl group, R4 is hydrogen atom or a halogen atom, and n is an integer of 0 to 2; and a salt thereof, which is useful as a herbicidal component. |
