<p>The vessel is fitted with a number of openings near the bow at a point where the pressure generated by the resistance to motion is a maximum. The openings allow a quantity of water to be drawn off to reduce the water pressure and decrease the resistance to forward motion, due to the inertia and viscosity of the water. The volume of water is delivered to the stern of the vessel under pressure to increase the reaction drive. The transference of the water from bow to stern ensures sound insulation under water of the propellers.</p> |
