Surface winding spirally over 180 degrees, forms a transport channel through each separate compartment of the rotary, reversible drum in a continuous washing machine for linen in batches, which, rotated in one direction washes within a chamber, and rotated in the reverse direction moves the batch of linen from chamber to chamber. A guiding surface divides each outlet through a partition into an inlet side of the drum mantle and an outlet side away from the drum mantle. The winding surface starts at the one partition between guiding surface and inlet side and extends to the opposing partition between guiding surface and outlet side. In the zone of the common outer mantle of the drum and the transport channel, from a winding point where four part-surfaces meet to form the spiral surface, it is inclined towards and blends into the partition. The drum is designed so that the chambers can be prefabricated for subsequent assembly, without detracting from the washing effect or from the throughput.
|
