PURPOSE:To start a self-exciting variable-speed induction machine without employing special starter by using inverse parallel thyristors, which control the terminal voltage of the induction machine during the operation at constant level when the induction machine is started. CONSTITUTION:At the time of starting, a switch 14 is closed, and switches 12 and 13 are opened; and the voltage which is controlled to a reduced value is supplied to an induction machine 5 from an AC power source 1 via inverse-parallel thyristors 7. When the induction machine 5 has started, the switch 14 is opened, the switches 12 and 13 are closed; and the induction machine 5 is operated and controlled as a self-exciting variable-speed induction machine. |
