<p>The suction system to remove body fluids from the region of the abdomen, etc., after an operation, uses a flask to receive the secretions, connected by a valve to a suction source. This valve is controlled by a system which opens and close it at determined regular intervals so suction is applied for regular periods of time. The valve is electromagnetically operated with its coil connected by an amplifier to two timers in series. These have a common connection to a constant frequency pulse generator. Each timer is connected to a controller which determines the valve opening and closing times.</p> |
