PURPOSE:To perform an correct annealing operation through an accurate tracking of annealing machine along welded line, if it is nonlinear, by optically detecting cutter mark of weld zone of electro-unite tube. CONSTITUTION:Butting section WP of pipe-formed steel plate is welded using welder 2, burr of welded zone 3 is immediately scraped using a cutter 4, and the welded zone 3 is annealed using annealing machines 5a-5c to provide an electro- unite tube 1. To perform accurate annealing operation, the after-cut welded zone 3 is detected by the detector 6, so that the controller 7 controls the annealing machines 5a-5c to track the welded zone 3. The cutter 4 is placed immediately after the butt welding point WP to prevent the welded zone 3 from being displaced by the distortion of the electro-unite tube 1. The light reflectivity difference between the cutter mark and other steel surface area is utilized so that the differential light quantity is detected by the detector 6. This provides correct welded zone position 3. The detector output actuates the controller 7 to cause the annealing machines 5a-5c to accurately follow the weld line 3. |
