The vacuum cleaner housing has a detachable lid (1) whilst the holder plate (3) which takes the push-on pipe (6) for the reinforcement plate (10) of the paper filter bag is firmly connected to the lid (1) by the inside of its holder (8) which faces the lid. Once fitted on the reinforcement plate (10) projects on the opposite side (12) beyond the edges (13) of the holder plate (3). To replace the dust-filled paper filter bag the lid (1) is gripped and removed from the machine housing. Since the old filter bag is attached to the lid via the plate and pipe (6) it can now be carried by the lid to the nearest dustbin wherein the reinforcement plate (10) is removed from the holder plate (3) so that the full bag falls freely from the pipe (6) into the bin without the need for manual contact at any time.
