The invention relates to a process for the determination of the enzymatic activity, in which the sample is placed in a vessel or over a confined area on the surface of a porous matrix that is saturated with a liquid. This covers a thin layer of an enzymatic light-sensitive substance placed on the solid surface of a support. The sample is allowed to diffuse or migrate electrophoretically in the matrix and is allowed to react with the enzymatic light-sensitive substance. The matrix is then removed, and the light can be indicated on the solid surface. The enzyme-containing sample can be an enzyme-producing bacterial colony on the matrix. The solid surface is preferably provided by a plastic material. |
