The keyboard musical instrument e.g. a carillon, is provided with electronic control to allow the automatic playing of musical tunes. The bells of a carillon are struck by hammers actuated by drive stages. Keyboard imputs are coupled over a commond data and control bus to a programming terminal, fast memory, selector, microprocessor time control unit and mass storage unit e.g. magnetic tape. A particular tune is entered over the programme terminal and the microprocessor determines the key identification and duration of acuration. The data is entered into the fast memory and may be recalled for automatic tune reproduction. The mass storage unit can hold a number of tunes for transfer into the fast store for playing. A selector allows a specific sequence of tunes to be programmed.
|
