Fungicidal 4- and 5-pyrazolecarboxamides of the formula <IMAGE> wherein one of R1 and R2 is the group -CONHR5 in which R5 is phenyl optionally substituted with one, two or three substituents independently chosen from the group consisting of alkyl, alkoxy, halogen, trifluoromethyl, nitro and cyano; R3 is chosen from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, phenyl and -CH2COOR6 wherein R6 is alkyl; R4 and R1 or R2, whichever is not -CONHR5, are independently chosen from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, and alkyl; R2 and R4 are not both hydrogen when R1 is -CONHR5; R1 and R3 are not both hydrogen when R2 is -CONHR5; and R2, R3 and R4 are not each methyl when R1 is -CONHR5 and R5 is phenyl.
