PURPOSE:To carry out non-oxidizing heating without decarburizing by a pack method by a method wherein a carbonated substance generating CO2 in a specific temperature range and a combustible substance generating CO by heating under a reduced atomosphere are mixed at a limited ratio and the obtained mixture is heated along with a title alloy steel under a reduced atomosphere within a container. CONSTITUTION:A carbonated substance 2 (e.g.: CaCO3, FeCO3) generating CO2 by decomposing at 500-1300 deg.C and a combustible substance 2' (e.g.: paper, straw) generating CO by heating under a reduced atomorphere are mixed at a weight ratio of 1:0.3-0.6 and introduced in a container 1. Subsequently, a substance to be heated 3 comprising low carbon alloy steel is introduced in this container 1 and an inlaid portion 5 of the said container and a top lid 4 is sealed by fine powder, thereafter heated under reduced atmosphere. |
