The warp-beam lifting and transport carriage is intended to achieve the object of making it possible to pick up either a full warp beam or two half warp beams directly from the ground without additional aids, making it possible to mount the driving wheel and the bearings on the warp beam picked up by the warp-beam carriage and making it possible to brace the lateral supporting arms of the warp-beam carriage relative to one another. For this purpose, the lateral supporting arms (80, 80') arranged on the lifting shaft so as to be laterally displaceable engage, by means of supports (81, 81') attached to them, on the warp-beam flanges, whilst for picking up and holding half beams there is provided a middle supporting arm which can be removed from the lifting shaft (3) and which has a claw engaging on the warp-beam tubes and supports and holding members engaging on the half of the warp-beam flanges located on the carriage side. The supports and holding members are formed on the supporting arms in such a way that warp beams of different diameters can be picked up and inserted directly into the weaving machine. <IMAGE>
