PURPOSE:A cosmetic composition for skin or hair, non-irritant to the skin, and containing an ester derived from a polyether polyol and a fatty acid selected from straight-chain saturated higher fatty acids, branched saturated higher fatty acids, and saturated higher hydroxy-fatty acids. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic composition for skin or hair, non-irritant to the skin, giving comfortable feeling to the skin, etc., and containing an ester derived from (A) a polyether polyol of formula (n1-3 are 0-20; m1-3 are 0-20; n1+n2+n3+ m1+m2+m3=3-70) and (B) a fatty acid selected from (a) straight-chain saturated higher fatty acids (e.g. octanoic acid), (b) branched saturated higher fatty acids (2-ethylhexanoic acid) and (c) saturated higher hydroxy-fatty acids (e.g. 12-hydroxystearic acid). The hydrophilic property and the viscosity of the composition can be adjusted by selecting the amount of the added ethylene oxide, etc., and the kind of the fatty acid. |
