<p>The fire engine is fitted with a swivelling jet pipe mounted on top of the driver's cab is provided with a device which keeps the jet pipe in secure position when not in use. The device is fitted to a bracket fixed to the rear surface of the driver's cab and consists of a gripping jaw set (12) in form of legs (13, 14) at right angle. On each leg clamps (15, 16) are fitted projecting into the space between the two legs (13, 14) through slots provided in the legs. The angled ends of clamps (15, 16) are forced towards the space enclosed by the legs (13, 14) under the pressure of springs (17, 18) while the other ends are hinged to the side of legs (13, 14). When the jet pipe (4) is not in use it can be pushed into the jaws between clamps (15, 16) and is kept there by pressure of springs (17, 18).</p> |
