An optical communication cable for use close to high-tension (overhead transmission lines) has all cavities within the cable core and cable sheath filled with a plasticised, not crosslinked plastic, based on polyurethane, epoxy or polyester resin. At least the external part of the cable sheath consists of a material with a high tracking resistance, such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polyurethane or polyester. Such an optical communication cable can be installed subsequently anywhere near high-tension equipment.
