PROCESS FOR EXTRACTING VANADIUM FROM DEACTIVATED CATALYSTS

A process for recovering vanadium from a deactivated catalyst in which process a catalyst which has become deactivated in the catalytic hydrotreatment of a vanadium-containing hydrocarbon oil is treated with a mixture of steam and air under specified conditions followed by extraction with an aqueous solution of a mineral acid in the presence of a reducing agent, after which vanadium is isolated from the vanadium-containing solution thus obtained.
