PURPOSE:To enable optical reading of recorded information which is high in S/N, accuracy and density, by reading out the magnetic recording or magnetic-optical recorded information thru modulation method. CONSTITUTION:The laser light produced from the laser oscillator 1 is converted into straight line polarized light with the polarizer 2, the polarized surface is oscillated in sinusoidal wave shape with the Faraday turning element 3, and the light is collected on the recording media 6 via the half mirror 4 and the objective lens 5. On the medium 6, the magnetic recorded information or the magnetic-optical recording information is recorded, and the polarized surface is shifted when the laser light is on the media 6 and it is collected to the place where magnetic recording is made. This reflection light is incident to the photo detector 7 via the lens 5 and the half mirror 4. Further, by suitably adjusting the angle between the polarizer 2 and photo detector 7, when the output of the photo detector 8 is in synchronous detection with the synchronous detector 9 with the oscillation signal on the polarized surface, the output on the recording information 1 or 0 can be obtained. |
