STRONG DURABLE NONWOVEN FABRIC AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A nonwoven fabric comprising a layer of fibers and a cross-linked polymeric binder material distributed through out the layer in separate and distinct bond areas of a specific size to produce a strong, durable fabric. The fabric is made by forming a layer of fibers containing an unsaturated polymeric material, heating and pressing the layer with the polymeric material therein, and treating the heated and pressed layer with electron beam radiation to cross-link the polymer and bond the fibrous layer.
