PREPARATION OF PACKAGE SHOCK ABSORBING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To enable reducing the thickness of package shock absorbing materials by providing material injecting fillers at two or more positions in the mold of a foaming machine and injecting two or more kinds of plastic foaming materials of different shock absorbing characteristics from the fillers into the mold at the same time. CONSTITUTION:At two different positions in a concave mold 12, material injecting fillers 18 and 19 are provided and plastic foaming material 7 of kind A in a material hopper 5 is injected into a mold 15 from the filler 18 via a material pipe 9 by blowing air from an air blowing port 10 whose air flow quantity is controlled by a control valve 17. In the same way, plastic foaming material 6 of kind B in a material hopper 4 is injected into the mold 15 from the filler 19 via a material pipe 8. By so doing, the plastic foaming materials 6 and 7 injected into the mold 15 at the same time are heated, foamed and formed into one body and a package shock sbsorbing material consisting of foamed materials 2 and 3 are obtained.
