Simultaneous dyeing and resin treatment of cellulose fibres - with substantive or acid dyes and methylol resins

Process is effected continuously by treatment with an aq. soln. contg. (a) 1-20 g/l of a substantive or acid dyestuff; (b) 40-200, pref. 50-200 g/l of methylol melamine and/or methylol-ethylen urea precondensate; nc) 10-30 g/l of an acid catalyst, free from metal salts, for the condensn. of the resin; (d) 5-20 g/l of an anti-migration assistant; (e) 0-30 g/l of a non-ionic plasticiser; (f) 0.5-5 g/l of an anionic or non-ionic wetting agent. The material is then dried and immediately fixed at 140-170 degrees C; pref. 155 degrees C. Post-washing is not necessary. Natural and regenerated cellulose fibres, opt. admixed with synthetic fibres, e.g. polyester are dyed and rendered resistant to creasing, shrinking and deformation simultaneously without separate intermediate stages. Higher prodn. efficiency is thus obtd.
