The invention relates to a method of producing a door, in which the door consists of surface panels 1, 2, edge strips 3 which interconnect the panels at the edges, and an insulating material between the panels. According to the invention, a pair of opposite edge strips and the surface panels are interconnected, shaping elements 4 are positioned between the surface panels at the open edges, the thickness of which elements corresponds to the thickness of the door being produced, and the door blank is placed in a press which presses the door blank and keeps its thickness to the size defined by the shaping elements. An insulating material foam is then injected into the door blank and, when the foam has set, the shaping elements are removed and the edges are smoothed and provided with strips. <IMAGE>
