Water ski with movement support flaps - has flaps which swivel out from body of ski during backward movement and adjoin body when moving forward

The water ski has each ski made as a flotation body with a high carrying capacity. The water ski is fitted on it's lower and/or at least one of it's side surfaces with forward movement support flaps (10, 10') and is also equipped with at least one drop keel (20) to stabilise it's floating position and increase its directional stability. The movement support flaps closely adjoin the body of the ski during forward movement in the water and swivel outwards automatically during any backward movement. The opening angle of the support flaps is limited by stops and the flaps are positioned in recesses so that adjoining the body of the ski they form part of it's surface profile.
