Coupling aid for lorry and trailer - includes pivoted guide rod and slider catch to align drawbar and coupling hook

A simple coupling aid consists of a bar held horizontally behind the lorry, and pivoted about a vertical axis. A slider on the bar has a clamp to grip the end of the drawbar and guide it towards the coupling hook when the lorry is backed onto the trailer. The device allows single handed coupling of the trailer without having to position single handed coupling of the trailer without having to position the lorry accurately relative to the drawbar. When the drawbar is secured th guide arm rests in a horizontal setting inside the profile of the drawbar.
