1473242 Embossing and cutting webs G D SpA 15 July 1974 [21 Sept 1973] 31210/74 Heading B8R [Also in Division B6] To make certain that a wrapping machine receives an unbroken succession of cut and embossed sheets S, alternating supplies of web from wrapping material are drawn from reels B1, B2. When the web in use is drawn from reel B1 it is embossed by rollers g1 and g2, then passed by guide G1 and rollers R1, R2 to the cutters. Passage of its trailing edge through sensor F1 causes trimmers C1, C2 to cut it to an exact length which is a multiple of the length of the sheets S and starts feeding from reel B2. Each pair of embossing rollers g1, g2, g1<SP>1</SP>, g2<SP>1</SP> consists of a steel-surfaced textured roller g1, g1<SP>1</SP> and a larger, slower pliable-surfaced roller g2, g2<SP>1</SP>. |
