The system for identifying a person is based on analysing the pattern of blood vessels of an eyeball instead of using fingerprints. The eye is scanned by an optical system and a set of signals is passed to a memory and a signal processing system. The pattern of blood vessels obtained has a large number of branches radiating out from a central point corresponding to the pupil of the eye. These branches are superimposed on two concentric rings divided up into degrees of a circle. The position of each branch, where it crosses these two rings is evaluated and recorded. This gives a set of reading which is unique for every person, and which can be compared with other sets of readings by a comparison circuit.
|
