The switch has a narrow front surface with a window in the middle for recognition of the switch positions, with a drum behind it with symbols indicating them. One end of the drum carries rotor contacts interacting with the stator, and the other a toothed crown rotated in both directions by push-buttons on both sides of the window, through slides and pawls held in their rest positions by springs. A step-by-step locking device locks the drum in the set position. The step-by-step locking device (25) operates between the case (24) and the drum (15) in independently of the operating slide (26).
